We're pleased to announce The Learning Circle and Parenting a 21st Century Child, two new initiatives at HB that have been designed for parents of young children. These networking and educational opportunities are open to all parents in Northeast Ohio.

The Learning Circle was created to offer a community of support as families navigate the challenges of parenting in the 21st century. Through the Learning Circle, parents will have the opportunity to make connections and share experiences while children engage in social play experiences designed to encourage exploration and creativity. HB early childhood teachers will also be on hand to offer resources and facilitate dialogue. Come and join us for coffee, conversation, and play!

Parents with children ages 3 and younger are invited to Hathaway Brown, where they can connect with other parents and allow their children some structured play time. The program is designed and facilitated by Early Childhood teachers (and parents!) Mary-Scott Pietrafese and Kristen Wise.

The Learning Circle is scheduled from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. every other Wednesday, October 3 -  December 12, 2012. There is no fee for this program, but registration is requested. Please click here to learn more and sign up today.

During the 2012-2013 school year, the Center for Family Support also is proud to offer "Parenting a 21st Century Child," a series of parenting seminars facilitated by Amy Speidel. Armed with a wealth of Early Childhood experience as a teacher, director and parent educator, Amy will introduce parents to the Conscious Discipline principles that can help this new generation of children work through conflict and frustration.

With fall, winter, and spring programs, each two-week class will meet from 6 until 9 p.m. in the Anne Cutter Coburn Resception Room. Attend as an individual at a cost of $70, or come as a couple at a cost of $130. A 15 percent discount applies for HB parents.

Sessions are scheduled for October 2 and 9, 2012; February 5 and 12, 2013; and April 10 and 17, 2013. Please click here for more information and register using our secure server. Space is limited.
